Dealing and resisting damage
Once you succeed on a strike with a melee attack or offensive power you need to determine how much damage you deal.
Dealing Damage: in most cases we will be using the “standard effect rule” in which most of your attacks have predetermined damages that don’t have to be rolled. But this rule does not apply to one of your attacks (it will say on your character sheet if it does or doesn’t) then you roll the listed amount and that is how much damage you deal. What’s important is the type of damage you are dealing, there are two main types Physical damage and Energy Damage. Depending on the damage type they attack the characters specific defense type, because all characters have a Energy defense and a physical defense value. There are also two levels of damage; Stunning damage and Killing damage, it is very important that you make the distinction between the two types of damage. As a general rule Killing damage is much more deadly, as its name implies, these two damage types can be easily translated into bashing damage and lethal damage from the white wolf system.
