Much like flaws from the White Wolf system, these help make you character a little more Human… or alien as your case may be. Most complications have some kind of a mechanical effect on the game but they are largely role played. So when playing be honest, remind the GM if you have a certain flaw that might make a task more difficult or impossible for your character. Additional complications can be taken later to give you more character points to spend elsewhere however, a complication can not be taken without a reason. You can just suddenly decide to be schizophrenic, you need a catalyst or a reason for a complication to form or be imposed. Additionally some complications might be forced upon your characters.
